Anouar Brahem is a Tunisian musician and composer, most famous for his virtuoso capabilities on the oud. At 24, he moved to Paris to expand his horizons. He met many musicians which he would come to collaborate with and interacted with many new genres as well. He composed a lot for cinema and theater, before he was signed with ECM Records. Under the label, he was able to release several personal albums that would become acclaimed. Tunisian origins are clearly reflected in the room’s color palette, as blue and white are the most common colors found in Tunisian architecture. Furthermore, Brahem’s connection to the Oud is symbolized through a custom designed desk in the room, which resembles the iconic Arabic instrument.
